I remember using mercury thermometers. I loved it when they occasionally broke. It was great fun to play with it, watching it forming individual balls, on your hands. Of course we didn’t know the danger 😱😱!!

There is lead in older indoor paint for structures, probably in outdoor paint as well. Babies or young children will eat the paint chips, resulting in at least to lower their level of IQ’s. Not sure if kids were eating outdoor paint chips, also.
