Which boss in the DLC was your favourite design?

If Midra could laugh during his fight he’d be fucking cackling the whole time

And to also mention, Midra floats around like a puppet. I believe this is because he is no longer Midra, but a puppet for the frenzied flame. The head itself becoming the epicentre of his power, with the body just sort of dangling below.

Man, I wish we could have midra fire head as helm

The presence of the merchant's leitmotif in Midra's theme always felt as if he's mocking them in a way, idk how to explain why, but is as if Midra is mocking them for enduring the flame instead of letting the madness take over like him

I hate how the game doesn‘t consider Midra, the man who was punished for no crime, and still endured, isn‘t a champion. SERIUSLY, I WANT MIDRA‘S RAGS OR CLOAK OR WHATEVER YOU MAY CALL IT!

He's definitely one of my favorite fights in the dlc and also had my favorite theme in general

One thing that I noticed while fighting him is that I felt his movements being somehow, wrong.
Like when you see something in horror games and think: yep that’s not normal.
Just me?

I don’t think there’s any boss that so effectively conveys such a sense of dread. Everything from his pure nightmare fuel design, his elegant movements, and haunting soundtrack really convey the stakes of the fight. If you don’t put him down right then and there, the entire world is fucked

All the bosses in this DLC were amazing in their own unique way. Every boss has their own colour, their own vibe.

a lil bit of music theory i wanna add to the mix, in midra's theme, the first phase is in a 5/4 time signature, making it erratic, uncanny, and unpredictable. however, for the second phase it shifts to 6/8 (or 3/4 i cant precisely tell), which is more of a synchronised dance. fits perfectly with the gameplay and lore imo

The way he so slowly and confidently steps, arms extended wide, really captivated me. The Frenzied Flame (I don't believe it's Midra anymore, he's just the vessel) is taking a twisted joy in the freedom and destruction it has finally been allowed, and it's not rushing to finish its goal. It's going to savour every second of it.

My little theory and headcannon is that being a lord of the frenzied flame is Just offering your flesh as a shell for the outer god to takes roots in. It needs a host powerful enough to accomplish what it wants. During the frenzied ending cutscene, our character acts in the same way as Midra does during the fight. Beside, eyes and face are ( I think) a symbol of personality, of individualism, being different from your peers. And the lord of the frenzied flame has neither, he isn't an individual anymore, he is the outer god, which basically a "one being", probably a collective consciousness (from which i think hyetta and and Shabriri are part of /became part of but were sent back to the lands between to guide us, the player, fit host for the yellow flame of chaos)

I love that some of his attacks are so bright, it's like a solar flare, or the sun itself is reaching out with a tendril of vile flame

Midra’s song might be the greatest soundtrack ever. A soundtrack should be a musical reflection of the character. There’s something about Midra’s theme that matches so well.

Somewhere in the lore, the nomadic merchants song was made by St. Trina or her followers to endure the flame of frenzy, or atleast soothe it. This is why it's impressive; that Midra may not have his mind, yet he continues to subconsciously resist it's hold over him.

I always love that heavy hit of bass in his ost

The glee in his attacks
I couldn’t even imagine that

The only thing I'd change about this fight is renaming the boss to just "The Lord of Frenzied Flame" because after Midra becomes a lord of frenzied flame, hes gone

Exactly why Midra's fight is my favorite. I love the music, and his awakening. It feels entirely like the LoFF has awakened from a deep sleep while at the zenith of the fight he has only begun to blinking that sleep away as he becomes accompanied to this body.

If Midra hadn't held the Lord back long enough for the Tarnished to appear and defeat it in that waking moment, the world would have faced a calamity with no rival in past or present that could defeat it.

The depths of our foolishness indeed!
