I think not getting something to eat and then waiting for food, especially while tired was what lowered your immune system.
Long travel trips can always be so exhausting!! Thanks for taking us along your nyc trip! I hope you feel better soon and can rest ☺️💌💐

I get anxious when I solo travel. Thank you for inspiring me to continue to push myself to do solo trips.

Gotta bring snacks on the plane! Especially if it's a long flight or you've got international layovers, your eating schedule may not line up with the meal service times

3.5 hours would be my dream. I can sleep 5-10 min on a plane if I’m lucky. Then I jump awake and get mildly embarrassed.

The best thing to add to your flight/airport routine to avoid getting sick would be wearing a mask like the N95 or Can99, especially as we have started cold/flu season early and covid is soaring right now.

Even with handwashing and sanitizing (still very worth doing), covid is still mostly transmitted through the air, so the mask is really your best bet. Plus people tend to be contagious before they’re actually symptomatic, so it could protect others as well.

Make of that what you will, but just putting it out there in case others are wondering too.

Airports and flights are notoriously bad for passing along illnesses, unfortunately.

The best thing I did the last time I travelled (September) was: woke up extremely early (2am), my flight was at 5pm, and as soon as the flight took off I went straight to sleep (missed the dinner on the flight), but got up in time for the breakfast on the flight. By the time we landed I had washed my face, freshened up, brushed my teeth and eaten breakfast. And I didn’t experience ant jet lag. But, I still got Ill though (I moved from one season to the opposite).

Las year I got Covid while traveling domestically in US and this year my boyfriend had it too. So, here’s what I would avoid if I were you: 1) wearing untied hair because it is like a sponge and it flies around your face without you realizing it 2) brushing your teeth with plane water in the bathroom. There are Listerine strips for that or Colgate mini wisps to address that and you brush when you are back home. 3) not cleaning the tray. It’s the most disgusting place on a plane and we don’t realize it ever. 4*) ask for bottled water (no coffee or tea since plane water deposits are rarely cleaned)

This happened to me on both of my international flights this summer! Both Japan and Italy from the US they kept us up with multiple meal services and all I wanted to do was sleep 🥲
