If there's ever a 2nd list, it should include Hideo Kojima and Fumito Ueda. The reasons we now consider video game story telling an art form.

You can tell a lot of work went into the making of this video.

I like videos like this that focus on the business side of things. People often don't realize how important that stuff is.

I agree with a lot of this list, but i also feel like too many big names were missed, and for me one of the biggest names is Satoru Iwata who i feel should be included in any top 10 list of people who changed the industry.

Hideo Kojima is another guy who has really impacted gaming, imo, he was the first guy to really show how much story you could squeeze into a video game. But more importantly he has produced games which some considered works of art, he’s the guy who showed how rich and deep a game could get.

How is Romero on this list with no mention of John Carmack? Romero was a hack, once on his own he crashed and burned. Carmack created Doom and all of the industry redefining technology as well as the FPS, Romero just added the satanic design and story for Doom, and is now just making mobile games because that’s his speed.

Some people that you should had mentioned are Hironobu Sakaguchi (made JRPGs what they are with first Final Fantasy), Hideo Kojima (for creating stealth games and bringing cinematic story telling to video games) and Yu Suzuki (creating Virtua Fighter and with it 3D fighters).

The picture of Newell is of him as Jesus, not the pope.

It is very clear how much love Miyamoto has for his creations. He cannot talk about them without a huge smile on his face. He is an amazing man that designs his games with care and passion, and makes sure that whatever he makes is perfectly crafted and true to his ideals. Shigeru Miyamoto...we salute you!

Surprised that Hideo Kojima and even Riot Games founders didn't make an appearence. One is a God of game design, the other carried a eSports finals to a Olympic stadium.

A few people I would include:
Ed Boon: broke down the barriers of violence in video games and set a path for wider options of creativity in video games
Satoru Iwata: by introducing the technology that would save Gold and Silver's development to Game Freak, he managed to save the franchise from ending there by helping Game Freak create a game that would sell greatly and continue the Pokémon franchise. And this is all just the tip of the iceburg.
Scott Cawthorn and Toby Fox: Helped put indie games on the map.
Nobuo Uematsu: Revolutionized video game music and helped set the standard for the type of music in RPGs
Naoki Yoshida: Saved FFXIV and in the process helped breath new life into the MMORPG genre. Additionally, he managed to create a virtual environment not entirely like WoW, where people feel *a bit* more welcome.
Satoshi Tajiri: Created the biggest selling video game franchise in history (Pokémon)

You kept Bushnell on there? Guess someone had to give him a pioneer award.

Shout out to whoever invented twin analog sticks as well. I've tried to replay Syphon Filter and Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven in the last few years and it's clunky as fuck without them sticks
