I was terrible in math in high school, so in order to graduate I had to take what was portrayed as “math for dummies.” It turned out to be the single most important class I have ever taken. We learned how to balance a checkbook, how to apply for loans and mortgages, how to bargain shop, how interest works, and yes, how to do our taxes. It’s the one class that I still use every day and impacted my life the most. Just the lessons for student loans and credit cards alone saved me from making some huge, life-changing financial mistakes (I went to college in an era when credit card companies would set up booth on the quad and offer students free crap to sign up). To this day I cannot fathom why that class isn’t mandatory for every high school senior.

It's sad to think this guy gets charged harder than most pedos.

I mean 66 months in a federal penitentiary is no small amount of time, and there's no parole or early release in the federal system, but he took his sentence like a champ. I genuinely hope for nothing but the best for this man and his family.

I hate how large companies can steal art from independent artists and get away with it, but when someone tries to do the same to the company they get sued

I was about to say that he was clearly humbled when he was leaving the courthouse... until I saw the shoe knockoffs. 😂😂

Wow his response was so amazing. “That’s fair…” being open about what he owes…super cool.

His response was absolutely perfect. Hope he does all right and learns his lesson for his kids sake.

Ive never seen a guy so calm and accepting of his verdict. Like yeah he is a criminal, but he don't seem like a bad dude.

It’s kind of refreshing to see people, when they know they did something wrong be so humble and open about it. Too often when Youtubers or people who are in the media get tax evasion or get caught committing crimes they are very salty about it and say that they did nothing wrong. But he openly said that he knew he did something wrong. He was ok with it and he knows he’s getting time I wish nothing but the best for him and his family.

The fact he was facing 500 yrs initially for a victimless crime is absolutely absurd. The justice system is a mess. I wish him and his family all the best.

Non violent crime and didn't harm any individuals in his crime. Much respect.

They used to teach that in school, along with paying bills, balancing a check book, reading your meter, etc. it was called a Proficiency Exam. You couldn’t graduate high school without passing this class, literally. Then people complained that their kids were being forced to learn how to take care of themselves.

Absolutely wild that he could have faced up to 500 years for pirating TV shows and movies. That's really a testament to how fucked up the legal process is. Five years is....okay, but it's still incredible just how he could have faced more time than actual criminals.

He really does seem like a likable guy. I hope the best for him and that he gets out with minimal trauma and can stay out of trouble when he is out.

Take a notice. He stole from the elite on a huge level and gets this, and FTX and other scams steal from us on a huge level and get pampered

Plenty of people/youtubers that did worse things and see no repurcussions, but bc he screwed with the IRS and large companies he did get thrown in jail. Feels a little unfair.
