Soil Blocking: Is it worth the Investment?

Показать описание
This is Micro Homestead Ecology. We have been growing our own food and building a more sustainable life, in the high desert on less than an acre of land, since 2012 here in zone 6b. I am excited to use this platform to share some of what we have learned over the years.
Today, we share our last seed starting method, Soil Blocking. Many gardeners and homesteaders eventually stumble upon this very sustainable option for starting their seeds each season. Soil blocking utilizes metal molds to create perfect little blocks of soil for plants to grow in. These have the added benefit of "air pruning" roots on the outside of the block, which limits transplant shock. It's an amazing system that might be worth the investment for some growers.
