I just realized that Jen is technically the first witch to ever finish the Witch’s Road.

The writers really had me looking like a clown for being shaken by the reveal that the notorious villain actually was a villain. And Agatha straight up told us day 1 when the road was first mentioned that it was a myth.

To be fair Rio had to bend all rules she could just to give Agatha and Nicky as much time as she could, as she said literally no one ever got special treatment like her. I also think it was actually considerate of her to take him while Agatha slept, she saved him from seeing his mothers' pain and left him with memories of Agatha happy and spare Agatha the pain of actually seeing his death.

Also, it was confirmed by the shows writer that the whole "life comes from death" thing was a way to clue us in that Rio had a hand in Nicky's creation, as Agatha mentioned, she said no incantation and who else to get her pregnant than The original green witch, the one who balances death and life itself. Also the whole episode Nicky was calling Agatha "mama" but the day he died he said "my mother needs me home" hinting that he felt that Rio was coming to take him, and the way he without questions took her hand indicates that he knew who Rio was, possibly she came to see her son at nights as to not disturb Agatha and still get to know her son before she inevitably had to take him

The writer also mentioned how when auditioning for Nicky they looked for a kid who looked like Aubrey Plaza.

Btw it wasn't kiss of death per se, it's mentioned that Agatha has succubus powers so she can draw power from Rio without needing to kiss her, and in ep 1 it is said that taking her power would kill Agatha, which it did. It's just that at the end when Billy reminded her of Nicky she wanted to save Billy and also finally understood that Rio had no choice in taking Nicky so she forgave her and wanted to show it one last time.

Also fun (not at all) fact, Agatha said that once she dies she doesn't want to see Rios face so when she did Rio respected it and retired her human face, moving on in her skeletal form.

As you see I'm completely normal about this show, not obsessed at all.

That clip of Jen and Agatha fighting about the true lyrics of the ballad hits so much harder now. Of course Agatha is pissed in her mind she's like bitch, me and my son WROTE the song! The fact that it's "coven two" because it was always just the two of them and no one else, they were each others coven... I- 😢

Something I love about the final trial is that they all had things to finish if they had worked together. Billy's spellbook had dirt all over the pages, Agatha's locket had the dandelion seed, and Jen's amulet had water inside it

When Agatha hit me with the “Sometimes, boys die.” as a reflection of her understanding and accepting the grief over her son being valid but death is natural, I teared up sooo much

42:50 I'd honestly say that Rio was doing the kindest thing she could. She let Nicky die in his sleep. He didn't suffer, it wasn't drawn out, he wasn't in pain. He just died painlessly.

The show is one of the cheapest to produce for Marvel and Rio tearing the set to walk through is a really simple but effective way of demonstrating Death's powers. Death exists outside of time and space and showing her literally walking through the 'fabric' of reality is actually so cool. She ate that.

The original script had Agatha deciding to sacrifice herself on her own, and that's how it was performed, then some executive came in and mandated Billy giving Agatha a lecture to make her change her mind. Also, Death drops her human face as soon as Agatha's gone, because Agatha said when she does finally die, she doesn't want to see it.

Nicky is the son of Agatha AND Death, stated in an interview. He was meant to be stillborn as a result. It's also hinted at that he can only be fed by death. On his final day alive, he refuses to kill the witches and says "My mother needs me home." and runs out of the tavern, despite the fact that Agatha was right there AND he only ever calls her "mom", never "mother". He knew his death was coming, accepted it, and happily followed his mother there. It also shows that he's familiar with Death, which makes sense given how many murders he's been right next to. Also, when Death reminds him to kiss Agatha before he leaves, he gives her two kisses: one from him, and one from Death.

The 4 additional witch specializations Agatha recruits for the rituals are protection, divination, nature, and potions. They're the powers Agatha said she didn't have to sustain Nicky with while explaining why her only choice is to keep killing witches. Some people say this is so she can get those powers even though it's too late, but I see it more as her resentment over it.

4:38 - fun fact I saw on the BTS of the show, apparently the swords were real swords on fishing wire, and they had to do a shittone of safety tests and knowing *exactly* where each sword was to fall before allowing the actors onto the set!

Billy’s cloak has both Wanda and Vision’s cape patterns on it. Wanda’s is on the outside, and Vision’s is on the inside. The costume designs said, this is a way for him to always a little bit of his parents with him

the "billy made the road" twist already being hinted at the first trial if you paid attention. when agatha got her "nightmare" after drinking the wine, it was a darkhold in a baby's crib, Implying that she sold/traded her son with the darkhold even though is not the truth. that happened because billy and jen have a conversation about her son earlier, such a good writting.

I think u misunderstand Rio Ash. She doesn't kill people. She just leads them to the afterlife AFTER they die. That is her role as Lady Death.
Nicky was supposed to die at birth. That's why Rio showed up to take him. She wasn't there cause she wanted to be, but because she HAD to be. And she even bent the rules by allowing Nicky to live another day just because of her relationship with Agatha.
Agatha kept killing witches to sustain herself, as well as Nicky, while keeping Rio at bay with the dead witches. But the 1 time she doesn't kill the witches cause Nicky didn't wanna, that's the night Rio shows up and Nicky's fate catches up to him.

One of my favorite things on rewatch is at 24:42 Agatha knows that the road is fake and she’s been willing to play along in hopes she gets her power back but then she’s faced with the reality they won’t get out and Billy says ‘well maybe we -‘ and she yells ‘if you don’t know keep quiet’ because she’s like YOU AND YOUR POWER PUT US HERE! And he’s about to say some other crazy BS top of mind that his imagination will just create into a reality. This show is so clever because so many moments work one way and then have a totally different meaning on rewatch. At this moment, Agatha is terrified she’s actually going to be stuck in Billy’s reality as opposed to just playing along in Wanda’s
