Seed Germination Paper Towel How to Start Seeds Fast!

Growing seeds with paper towel method can really help your germination rate and increase your seed sprouting percentage as you learn how to germinate. The ziplock back creates a Greenhouse Effect inside the bag and as long as you provide heat and a little light you will love the results.

A key to all this we have found over the years is to add a little hydrogen peroxide to your water. A capful of HP poured into a full bottle of water is all you need to assist in your seed germination.

Seed germination can be tricky with certain seeds and it usually is the ones that were expensive. If you have had poor results in the past try this paper towel method and you will see how fast the seeds will germinate!

Pro Tip - if you are still having difficulty after using this method you must question the seed viability. In other words maybe the seeds were not good. The second thing, and we have learned from this mistake, your seeds must go through a cold period. This is called "cold-stratification". This is why you will never have seeds if you purchase from our store that have not gone through this cold period. We store our seeds after they have dried for at least 2-3 weeks. This puts the seeds in to a hard dormancy that is mimicking nature. After that and the temperatures warm up the seed is more likely to germinate aggressively.

Learned this in 6th grade science class. I’m now 52. You do the math. It is a great method. Thanks for continuing to educate us!

This is crazy! I had mediocre luck germinating my seeds in soil, so I tried this method. Some of my seeds germinated in less than 24 hours!

SOOOO EXCITED!!! I tried germinated seeds a few different ways and this was the first and best way I got nice roots on my cucumbers, sunflowers and onions so far!! Thank you! Subscribed and watching some more videos! Only thing different was I put the seeds that were in the baggies in the dark cabinet in my kitchen and it took about 4 days

thank you! my daughter has this little greenhouse that’s similar to a plastic bag & it didn’t have instructions I couldn’t find it anywhere online. We used them when I was in elementary school so I just dampened a paper towel & put the seeds in there & they’ve sprouted sooo much!

thank you for this! I wasn't sure if chia seeds would grow in a clear tupperware because it's airtight but your video shows they'll grow even in a ziploc bag

I can’t wait to try this. I have some seeds that didn’t take off and want to get them sprouted before attempted to direct sow and guess as to whether they are gonna grow or not. Thanks for the tip!

I understand why this video has more than 3 million views, because this technique WORKS! Now, I couldn't get them to sprout after planting, but at least I got them through step 1: germination. I'll have to keep trying other techniques to get them to sprout. Thanks! 😄

Thanks for getting straight to the point, the only reason we click on a video and for not having all the chit chat jibberish jabber about this & that! 😀
