Podcast guest 297 is Penny Wittbrodt. Penny had a near death experience where she encountered her grandmother. During her NDE experience she also encountered God. God would soon put her writing skills to the test after she survived a life-changing brush with death. Penny had developed a rare type of allergic disorder called, mast cell activation syndrome. This illness lead to eighteen episodes of complete respiratory failure, requiring her to be put into medically induced comas and on the ventilator. Her life was forever changed when she stopped breathing and slipped over to the spirit side.

"Small acts of kindness are epic." As a child, I had hit rock bottom with serious thoughts of suicide. At my lowest level a teacher quite unconsciously put his hand on my shoulder and the warmth and genuine kindness I felt from that touch brought me back to life, erasing all of my pain. Because of this, I was able to go on, though nothing about the difficult circumstance of my life had changed. Three years later I crashed again and, walking down the high school corridor, a girl quite naturally turned to me and smiled the warmest most genuine smile. Silly as it may seem, her smile stopped me from killing myself. I wonder what those two would have thought to learn of the 'epic' effect of their wee act of kindness had had on a person's life.
I've always made a point of paying it forward, smiling at people who seem to be aggressive, rude, sad or having a bad time. You never know whose life you touch. I loved hearing Penny's story - it hit me hard.

Of all the NDE I’ve watch this one shakes me.
I jokingly say to my family and friends I have no life ‘cause that’s they way I want it.
I never go out except to get grocery. I don’t socialize or go to church. I’ve dropped all my friends.
Her story woke me up… it made me see how I’ve created a dark empty lifeless void for myself. Not the drama free life I thought.

I wept so much during this podcast. This isn't the first or the second time I have heard this NDE but every time I do hear it it gets me right in the feels. It is my favorite NDE I have ever heard. I feel like I broke the cycle with myself like her son broke the cycle with of his father. The "I AM" in the DNA. I was moved by the final words too that she shared. Firstly Penny don't ever doubt your beauty as a person and your confidence as a speaker...you need to be out there telling your story... this was my favourite testimony so far... That love God showed you... That love letter he gave you... I think my heart would burst... I am so like you in many ways... You told us things no-one else has... God is in our junk DNA.. ! Loving you heals me... What a beautiful sentiment.. I'm appalled at your treatment when you first got to hospital... And one thing I'll never understand is why vicars and churchgoers, faith based hospitals etc.. have such a hard time with people giving a testimony such as yours!!! It's the very core of their belief so why don't they believe it when it happens!! Thanks Jeff for this amazing guest-from the sound of it there's more to tell...
