They fixed the sensor on the gen 1 AirPod on the second one by replacing it with a infrared sensor, over time the 1st gen AirPod sensor would get blocked with debris and would make crackle sounds when transparent mode or noise cancellation was turned on

You have the 1st gen case of the 1st gen pros, there was a second, and I think it was a silent release, but it was to fix the audio issues with first like batch of pros and they also added MagSafe on the case and redesigned the AirPods a little bit. You can tell if yours has the MagSafe case by looking at the box your AirPods came in, they will say “MagSafe Charging Case” somewhere on the side or on the description of the box

There's not a grill on the side of the airpod on the 2nd gen vs the 1st one has the grill
