Top 5 Tips for MTB Night Riding - Simple But True......
Показать описание
Here's my Top 5 Tips for MTB Night Riding. While most of this may seem obvious to more experienced riders, we all have to start somewhere. MTB night riding adds a whole new dimension to the trails and turns those perhaps well-trodden routes into something very special indeed at night. Once you've tried it once you'll be wanting more.
These 5 top tips for MTB night riding are here to help you get underway.
You don’t have to spend a fortune to get out MTB night riding. My cheapest lights that have seen me hit so many trails at night cost £27 for 2. Still running to this date. Only when you discover if MTB night riding is suited for you would I recommend getting more expensive lights. Otherwise it's a waste of money if you didn't enjoy it. Borrow some if you need to. I lend mine all the time and people love the experience and go from there.
Ride trails you know well enough. No point hitting something new for the first time when you have no idea what to expect. Unless you're used to night riding then you'll likely be fine. So hit the trails later in the day and get used to the features and when night comes you'll be alll over it.
Riding with someone at night cannot be underestimated. It's someone to talk to for one, but if something happens you'll be glad to have that extra person to help. I normally go with at least one. The more the merrier and a better ride in general. There's loads of MTB groups out there. Join one and see if people rides those trails at night.
Tell someone where you're going. Regardless of MTB night riding I always tell my wife where I'm heading and what time roughly I intend on finishing. If this time passes she'll normally get in touch to make sure everything is ok. After all this is a dangerous sport, so minimise the risk by informing others. "SIMPLE"
Follow those top tips above and you'll well on your way.
Finally my last top tip for MTB night riding.
Just enjoy it. You'll have a fantastic time.
