Top 25 Honda CRF250L Accessories for Adventure Motorcycle Riding Dual Sport - 2020 Road to Adventure

As usual, prior to starting his trek into adventure riding Larry read in forums, watch lots of videos, and talked to riders with experience to identify the list of things he would want and need as someone who has never ridden any off road before. When he gets a new bike he always creates a full list, along with the estimate cost of each item on the list... and then he prioritizes the list. The purchase order frequently changes when he finds good prices that make sense to by at the time of the best deal... and of course dependent on how much liquid cash he has available at the time. In this video he counts down his current top 25, working his way to the items he thinks are the most important based on this bike and it being a completely new genre that he has never ridden in.

UPDATE - 1st Quarter 2021, I am filling some gaps and adding some stuff... so after watching this video check the website to see the updates. I will also add a video later in the season to show the updates.

Use the 25 to start your own list and rearrange to fit your experience, style, and funds. We have a profile page specifically created for the CRF250L and a link to a much more inclusive list of accessories and related items that he has also already got or planning to get. Plus there are more photos, links, prices, and in some cases discount codes. As with our other motorcycle profile pages, we will continue to expand this page over time as he adds and changes things on the bike. Here are some of our links to get you started:

I wouldn't even want to take that bike in the dirt because it looks so damn nice! I'd just ride it around town and sit in the garage with a beer and stare at it :-)

I know it doesn't seem to make sense but your front brake line should run behind your fork instead of the front. The length of it is cut so that it won't get tangled up in your wheel and if it's on the inside of the fork it won't get snagged by a limb. If you look at a brand new one or in a service manual it is routed behind the fork. Just FYI.

I went with acerbis plastic skid plate for mine. Happy with it, run it on rocks and logs and barely gets scratched. You have a pretty sweet setup 👍👍👍

Some good choices. But I'd ditch those street mirrors and get a set, or just one (left side), Double Take mirrors. If you don't want to spend 60 bucks the Emgo enduro mirror is an excellent choice for under 20. The mirrors on your bike are going to get ripped off on that first real crash.

Enjoyed the vid. I have done most of those mods. If you're serious about going off road you'll need to improve the suspension front and rear. Also the Acerbis frame guards are good to stop your boots rubbing thru the paint. I also added a gear indicator and USB socket on my 2013 L.

Nice video. Very professional. Good Choices. I recommend the flatland skidplate. That's what I put on mine.

I love my crf250l but I think I’m gonna sell it and get a cbr500r and eventually get a 450l

@3:34 Because loud pipes smoke weed. ;)
@9:04 Nah, because the standard seat is not dwarf friendly. ;)

Loud pipes are terrible and give motorcycle riders a bad image.

I just traded in my Tenere for a nicely set up CRF250L. Being winter here, I've only done short rides on the 250l but I'm loving it. Spent 2 seasons on Tenere, so I feel i gave it a fair shot, 23k kms. No regrets downsizing.

Make it: Essential modifications ( for a spoiled US 16 year old brat). Too much money, little brains
