And that's why physical copies or ROMs are way more precious.

This is the reason why I got myself an n64 and started collecting all the games I could get for it because I want the true nostalgia of playing all these games.

and that's why physical media will ALWAYS be superior

There are positive and negatives to a subscription model. It's great for games you just want to experience once and will never want to play again. It also eliminates that feeling of being ripped off if you hate a game. Just shut it off and play a different one. You didn't waste any money on it. But for classic games that age like fine wine, it's terrible. Best to own a copy of those. Pay once and it's yours.

Well, there is another way to preserve the classics but… you know Nintendo doesn’t like it 🏴‍☠️

I'm not buying into this digital garbage, if I can't have a physical game I'm not interested. Just another way for the companies that make these games to sell you their garbage and after you pay they can take it away, re-release it 6 months later and charge you again .

If only GBA and n64 weren’t locked behind an expansion 😢

At least in blockbuster when they shut down they sale all of their shock cheap and you get the chance to own them anyways. My library of games double in size because we went to town to town raiding blockbusters.

This could secretly be one of the reasons why I keep playing these classic games because I know they're going to be gone. So cool to go back to some games I grew up with in the 90s and even discover some games I missed out on back during those eras. I played a lot of GBA in the early 2000s but I didn't know about the minish Cap until way later and I've loved playing it on the GBA catalog

Or you can buy a phone or pc then emulate them. Amazon has a controller for every game console including N64. No more wires. Plus they make stuff for your TV HDMI PORT. Lots of options to go digital nowadays.

Oh and did I mention the cheat codes that render a trade link cable useless? Why trade for an alakazam when you get a wild encounter cheat that includes you too MEW

Well for the switch online service, they already confirmed its going to be on the next system via switch backwards compatibility. Its going to stay live on switch for another generation.

Nintendo switch online is going to be the new PlayStation plus. 💀💀

It's already happening -- Super Soccer for the SNES switch online will soon be delisted...we knew these games weren't gonna permanently be there, but this being the first one just kinda hits hard cause now it's a sure thing that games like Goldeneye won't last on the service forever

We aren’t pirates, we’re preservationists

So many emulation devices now that will last a life time. Cheaper than a year subscription to Nintendo too. Plus soo many more games and consoles. Miyoo mini plus is a good entry

maybe the successor keep the nintendo switch online, and nintendo switch online were never die (until nintendo wants to kill it)

Do not assume that they will not put a solution to that problem when they turn off the server of Nintendo switch 1, because they are aware of the issue, but they will not say what they are going to do about unless it does happen, if it does happen when Nintendo switch 1 server shut down and you lose all access and Nintendo does not do anything about it. They will be alternative solution going into a Hackers online which they have a clone version of this, people that got false banned from Nintendo at the time where a False banned cannot be undone does people are already using DNS to go to a Browser not own by Nintendo and they have a clone of this except they have what nintendo does not put in yet and that version is free and permantely run offline. I do not used that myself since I don't trust a hacker online browser. And I don't have a reason to.

No thanks. They lost their chances for me to buy anything from them. I especially despise turning everything into a service. A service that will eventually be discontinued.

Best way to combat the ships on the high seas is to offer a better product.
