Honestly one of my favorite things to do with artifacts is just to look up some character build guides online and go through multiple of them and see which artifact is commonly recommended. There is also a feature in Genshin that can allow you to see what artifacts are most commonly used for the character, but build guides can also help you figure out what stats would be best on the artifact. I hope this helped:D!

My suggestion would be not to worry too much about much about artifacts until ar40. Before then you can slap on any and be fine. Second tip is PICK UP EVERYTHING YOU CAN PICK UP. Chances are you’ll need it in the future. Unless it’s pinecones of course (they’re useless)

Tips for Genshin:
- there's an option for "Fast Equip" for Artifacts, so it will be easier for you (the game will equip the best artifacts available for the character you have)
- there's also alot of guides on the net for the best artifacts, so I suggest reading them if you want
- follow the main story line! that's the best for new players as to not get overwhelmed by the world
- explore when you WANT, not because you NEED, you'll get burnt out
- don't rush!
- also: explore the areas only when you need it for a quest or something, or domains
- play it as you want!

My ar60 tips:
- play the way you like first. It's a game, have fun.
- someday you'll notice that you can't beat the monsters anymore, then you look for stuff like artifacts and talents.
- talents are a game changer! Early game artifacts aren't that good, really.
- try reactions! There's tutorials about them in game, at the temples you got Lisa, for example. Go back there lol
- the story is the thing that locked me in for four whole years, but it isn't only in quests. There's books, and lore everywhere lol but you don't have to read everything to enjoy. If you want to immerse in lore, look for lore channels.
- meta channels can be overwhelming, so don't look for them now.
- playing with a controller is easiser! Keep trying and you'll get it
