It's even more awkward when you are using headphones. You want your buddy to get the best experience so you let them wear both earbuds but then you will have to play the song in your head simultaneously to get a rough idea of how far they're into it until you decide they've heard enough and so now you have to remove the earphones by force and your friend naturally gives you that "WTF bro" face but you have to remain polite and ask them about their opinion while brain informs you that you've fucked up for the umpteenth time.

You either stop the song early out of embarrassment or end up talking through the entire thing explaining why you like XYZ part as it comes up, instead of just letting it play through in its entirety before discussing it. me about to press play: It's one of my favorites but I know it isn't their best. Trust me, they have better ones. Objectively. So if you are not into this it's cool. Anyway, I kinda like it?? I don't know. It just speaks to me I guess, especially live versions. They are superior to the studio recording imo. Live in Dublin 2003 is my favorite and Tokyo 2006 with that extended outro, they are SO GOOD. It's a shame they rarely play it live nowadays. It's okay if you don't like it... The lyrics are actually about his father's death, he was only like 9 at the time. That riff in the bridge is the best part. If I had to choose of course because it's all amazing, I just love it.
