Context for anyone who doesn't know, the driver, Marcus, is part of a hacker group called dedsec, and the car he's driving is a movie vehicle made for a movie which pokes a bit of fun at hackers, hence the apparent "intelligence" however its really just his friend and fellow hacker, Wrench, telling the car to say that

This is a real issue with facial capture, especially back then. They probably wrote the joke from firsthand experience. Black skin gives very poor contrast with visible light, so iPhones and expensive hollywood face capture rigs also use infrared. The "no reference for 'black'" thing was also an issue, since a lot of these early systems were mostly tested by the white guys working on them, so they only realized it had trouble with other races after the product launched.

This is actually a problem irl too! A lot of AI training data when it comes to faces doesn't account for Black folks (or anyone that isn't white, really) and women, so it tends to struggle when it needs to recognize a face that falls in those categories. Stems from the fact that a lot of the tech and especially the AI sector is not very diverse, and the folks making the products tend to forget that other people don't look like them.

Im actually starting watch dogs 2. I did watch my brother play back then 6 months ago, now ima start my own journey. Even though i played a little bit on my brothes account, i still didn't experience the full game like he did.
