I am a fan from Tokyo, Japan! I have been investing in the stock market for 4 years now and your videos have been amazing sir Marvin! Because of your videos sir Marvin, I started also to invest in Pag Ibig MP2. My question sir is this, would it be better if

Option 1, I invest 10,000 Pesos a month and put it in Pag Ibig MP2 (Total 600,000 Pesos in 5 years)
Option 2, I invest 120,000 Pesos at the start of the year and put it in Pag-Ibig MP2 (Total 600,000 Pesos on 5 years)
Option 3, I invest the whole 600,000 Pesos one time big time.

What would be better sir?

Assumptions

Dividend Rate =7%
Dividends would be consistent for the 5 years
You would reinvest the dividends
You won’t invest more than 600,000 Pesos for the whole 5 years

Option 1, I invest 10,000 Pesos a month and put it in Pag Ibig MP2 (Total 600,000 Pesos in 5 years)

Total dividend earnings = 116,254.54
Total Money In & Dividends = 716,254.54

Option 2, I invest 120,000 Pesos at the start of the year and put it in Pag-Ibig MP2 (Total 600,000 Pesos on 5 years)

Total dividend earnings = 138,394.89
Total Money In & Dividends = 738,394.89

Option 3, I invest the whole 600,000 Pesos one time big time.

Total dividend earnings = 241,531.04
Total Money In & Dividends = 841,531.04

Option 3 earned 103,136.15 Pesos more than Option 1 and it also earned 125,276.50 than option 2. That represents 14% more than Option 2 and 17.5% more than option 1.

To simulate further, if you placed in more money, the variance would be much much bigger, 154,704 Pesos from Option 3 and Option 2 then 187,914.74 from Option 3 and Option 2

Ranking

1st: Invest the large amount and make a lump sum
2nd: Invest a lumps at the start of the year
3rd: Invest monthly on a staggered basis

Conclusion

If you have the money already right now, invest it because you have the whole amount already all working hard for you.

The name of the game is volume and time. The more you put in and the long that can work hard for you the more you can actually earn

But don’t despise small beginnings if you do not have the lump sum money yet it does not matter but start with wha you have right now.
