I doubt Tchaikovsy himself anticipated how beautifully this piece could be played.

Unbelievable! Perfect. Simply perfect. Rich. Colorful. Extremely accurate. Full of gusto. Gil "grows" into the Concerto he performed so many times - both in studio and live - in ways that even Peter Elych himself would find hard to recognize. As I've written many times, Gil has Hafetz' accuracy, Perlman's warmth, Menuchin's virtuoso, and Stern's passion. He's THAT good. Thank you maestro Gil, and thank you to the LPO allowing such a star to shine among them. Excellent performance!!!

BRAVO !!!. Saludos desde España.

Superlative. You can't go past a performance of thus calibre. Congratulations also to the London Philarmonic and Ryan Bankcroft. No audience but now available to the world audience.

how enjoyable this piece is when soloist and orchestra just get on with it, without a lot of sentimental wallowing. very refreshing. and Gil is still playing his 2017 Gaybaryan fiddle. proof you don't have to bankrupt yourself to get a world class violin.

Beautiful pacing and tone colors, quite amazingly in tune and flawless. Such lovely melodies he brings out including contrasting sections. Enjoy his playing for his long bows, tasteful dynamic range and great ensemble playing listening to others, while playing very precisely in all aspects as a fine world class virtuoso.

Gil has a very old fashioned style. Lots of fast bow. You can almost smell burning rosin! And he loves music in the way I do- it takes the place of sports. If he wasn't a pro, he'd do it for the fun of it. He's the very best around now.

I've been following Gil Shaham since I was a teenager here on YouTube, and for me he's one of the best violinist I have heard, I know it has a lot of others soloist too, but I love his style, I play the violin since my teenage and I try to follow his style, it's wonderful.

I just love Gil Shaham as well as I have watched him live with Detroit Symphony conducted by Nicholas McGegan. I just love it as I watched enjoy himself, and the music so much!

Crisp, enlightened and just a wonderful performance. I've ardently admired Mr. Shaham ever since seeing him on TV when I was a teenager. I was sawing away in high school orchestra at the time and watched him play some Wieniawski piece on Good Morning America. Couldn't even comprehend how good he was. It made me depressed for awhile.
