I'm so thrilled to be doing my first homeschool q&a here! I asked you guys to send in your questions over on Instagram and you did not disappoint.
I'm sharing my answers to things like how I fit in chores, what our homeschool schedule looks like, and whether or not I would consider homeschooling an only child.

I loved listening to your chat today. ❤️ I liked your answer on the kids flat out refusing to do school...the expectation of obedience is rare these days. When kids know what’s expected, and negotiating isn’t an option, homeschooling goes so much smoother. 😊

That’s really interesting about your school year. The states usually have 8 weeks off, not much but we make such a big deal out of it.

I love your viewpoint on them needing to do their schoolwork. I also agree with meeting their needs.

I’m in the U.K. and we are Australian and we don’t change TGTB curriculum but explain how it’s done in the U.K. and then explain how it’s done in the US. We done use their history curriculum. I’m expecting my kids to know the Aussie states. I love the flexibility of homeschooling. We are yr round homeschoolers. We have chores but it’s up to them who does their chores. I pulled my kids out of public school as they struggled in public school. We eat healthy foods but love easy to prepare food.

We definitely set up the clear expectations. I also give reminders for "10min and we will start our lesson". And I utilize the Echo to set timers for break times.

I love the lunch ideas. I often feel the pressure to do ALL THE THINGS but it’s true to just let the food stuff be simple! I am a bit burnt out with meal planning!!!

HAHA I love your explanation about you being the parent! <3 Thank you! My son would skip school if he was allowed to as well. He doesn't care about it.

So helpful! I would love a history curriculum comparison from your perspective - I totally agree with what you said about TGATB history. It's way too much American History for us - it would be perfect if were American or lived in America, but I can't justify a quarter of the year on the history of a country we aren't from and don't live in.

Also, love what you said about setting expectations. I hadn't thought of doing that, and that's such a good idea.

Helpful video, thanks for sharing :) I totally agree with you about getting the kids to clean up after themselves, it is really helpful. My children are similar ages, 5 and 3 and I have another one on the way :) i think we have similar schedules.. we get chores and homeschool done in the morning:)

What was the book that you use for allowance and money? I couldn't find the link and would love to look into it.
