Jing is a headscratcher for me in terms of how Hoyo decided to make him. Like I wouldn't call him a bad or weak character because you can clear the hardest content with him without too much trouble. I wouldn't even call him that much more stat hungry compared to Seele or Blade, because Asta and Tingyun can patch up so many of his problems that you can get away with pretty average stats on Jing's relics and still do just fine because of the supports.

But it feels like Hoyo just looked at the dmg multipliers of the LL and thought 'holy shit, that's too busted on it's own' and put a bunch of limitations on his kit so you can't access his maximum potential too easily. Like my biggest issue isn't even the CC, in my personal opinion that's a little overblown and the 'JY gets cc'd at every turn' concern is just not that relevant. He has naturally the lowest taunt value on the team, so he wont get picked off at every opportunity, and even just a few rolls into effect res can make a big difference.

A much bigger issue for me is that LL doesn't generate any energy off of it's hits. To my knowledge he's the only follow up focused character where this is the case, and I just don't understand why it's locked behind an E4!! dupe. This is the main reason why his rotation is wonky and he basically has to be glued at the hip to Tingyun. Only if LL generated energy normally he would feel a lot smoother to play.

Jing yuan definitely need a speed buff or higher base attack. Also i feel like his Ultimate could use a buff

I loved everything about his character. I even been a huge support of his voice actor for a long time. I also got him to E1S1 and I been loving it like crazy. Only getting better since I just got Bronya. I never went for the meta and I don’t regret his banner. Got extremely lucky as a F2P as well.

But I will admit that him status being strict limited to his Light Cone and Lighting Lord (LL) did limited him in a lot of ways. You need him at E4 to get energy from his lightning lord hits. Or if JY was CC, it delays the LL a lot. It’s too slow in the endgame. In my opinion, if LL had a speed buff increase or automatic attacks at 10 stacks, I would think it would a game changer. Ya, building him is hard but I’m happy with my current JY atm.

Ngl, I've seen people on Discord, Reddit and YouTube who uses S tier units but can only clear up to stage 5 in MoC. I use supposed "Mid" units yet I can clear MoC 10.

blade's follow up attack gets to be stored and when his CC debuff goes off, he just auto activates it. Jing Yuan's LL should honestly just stay at the top of the move order while he is CCed

I got him trying to fish for a Tingyun. I don't regret raising him since he did help me push content and made farming easier; but now that mom is home, JY took Sampo's spot in the back and is now collecting dust.

I love how jing yuan looks and his skills but after using him he just feel too slow to kill, you have to wait for the lightning lord to attack and there’s no way to making him attack faster, so I lose so many turns and even if I try using speed boots I lose so much attack and end up lacking damage.

As a JY main I see no reason to be salty. Kafka having higher numbers doesn't affect JY's ability to clear content. That is the only thing that matters! There is no meta in this game, no competitive edge to it because there is nothing even remotely approaching PvP. People should stop fixating on which character is 'better'. Every character can clear all content. Like what you like and ignore the rest!

Mid Juan is the only pull I regret in HSR on my whale account. He did allow me to clear MOC10, but now Kafka/Blade are just better.
I'm happy that I skipped him on my F2P account.

honestly the best way to fix him is have LL screenshot his stats right before acting, makes bronya buffs and tingyun rotation much better(u dont have to reskill when there is 1 more charge on tingyun)

I dont have a problem that he is hard to build and not even that he needs his lightcone or his other problems like cc, skill points, no energy generation lightninglord But I have a problem that he is not even close to Kafka damage output. Kafka best team campared to Ying Yuan best team is 40% ahead and when you just put Kafka into JY best team the team damage goes up 20%. Kafka is better in every single scenario like single target, three bosses, boss and small mobs and so on. You can unequip and delete him if you have Kafka and thats 100% powercreep after so little time.

I was one of those guys who intend to skip Seele and pull for JY, until I change my mind on the last day of Seele banner upon reading that JY doesn't work well with Bronya and how CC will fk him. Best decision I've ever made.

I think they just thought jingyuan got more limitations? For example that he needs to stack for LL, getting CCed means no dmg as LL won’t be doing dmg compared with kafka kafka is just easier to play compare with kafka

As a F2P JY Main, I don't have a problem with Kafka being better than JY. Granted I have a lot dedication put into JY with all the relic grinds, exp grinds and trace material grinds but Kafka being better doesn't stop JY from being good, like how JY didn't stop Serval from being good. Granted he is really limited with CC, stacking mechanics regarding speed and stats on the relics, but a well built JY can still carry. This game is very fun and continues to be, all this meta-chasing and number-comparing will only hamper a person's interest and joy for this game.

unlike jing yuan main who expect him to be broken beyond limit, we kafka main already accept our fate if she come out to be okay or mid, bcs DoT is not as popular/stronger as Hypercarry, that is what we think before but boy she went beyond our expectation, that make us happy and see her true potential in the future. but for Jing Yuan main don't be afraid even if he doesn't get buff, miihoyo will release a Unit that make him better trust me.
