Hi Jamie. I found your channel and subscribed a couple of months ago and I love your videos! They are so helpful. I really appreciate the time you put into them and look forward to each new video. Thank you for all the links you included in this Q&A video. Can't wait for the styling videos for 50-60's. I just turned 50 this summer. Thanks for sharing your style with us all. 😊

I agree that self tanner is the key to wearing dresses in the summer. Or, I buy high quality Commando nylons/tights close to my skin color. I am in my mid 60’s and it felt weird at first. Second, I own lug sole loafers and Chelsea boots, but not the over the top lug sole version. That is how they look age appropriate to me. Thanks

Thank you! You asked for questions and then you answered them…in a very practical and realistic way I might add. I think you are a breath of fresh air on YouTube and I appreciate your approach on fashion.

Great content, Jamie! One point to add about wearing trends like the chunky lug soled loafers is that it depends upon a person's style and personality if a trend like that will suit the person. One of my fifty year old friends is very gamine and edgy in her style. She'd rock a pair of chunky lug soled loafers. Even though I'm 63 and an artist, my style is less edgy so the lug sole might look like I'm trying too hard. (I did buy a pair of leopard print suede mules, though, and I'm wearing them a lot.)

Wow, a lot of advice is given here! Just curious, what is your "fashion" background? Who are some of your favourite designers and who do you get your fashion inspiration from?

Thank you for addressing my question. I loved your response and respect your expertise. I really liked how you explained how you can “tone down” a trend, ie chunky shoes. Maybe you could periodically talk about trends and how to “tone” for the ages.💕

Style didn’t change so much for me because of age, but because of weight. Back when I was an hourglass, I wore clothes differently than when I was 225 pounds. Since I’ve lost about 50 pounds, my clothes from 1990 are fitting, and looking good. A T-shirt, jeans, ankle boots, and a trench look good for any age.

High waist are empire on me. It actually works with yoga pants and leggings because they provide compression all the way up. If you could provide pictures, it would be easier to visualize.

Thanks for your tipps, they are realy helpfull.

I'm long waisted myself, it's especially difficult to find dresses with the waistline in the right place. Skirts I avoid completely because my waistline is lower in the front than the back, so skirts just bunch up and never fall right. Any suggestions?

Great video but I think we should just get over this self conscious nonsense about our bodies. If you have legs show them off. If you want to bare your arms then go ahead and do that. Men never say that they’re self conscious about their legs they just wear shorts cuz they want to. Ladies, just do it! Guess what - nobody cares what your legs look like whether they be skinny, heavy, veiny, super pale, long, short, whatever.
