Definitely gave me some new ideas with the changing the bit part & the convolution plugin(which Ive always heard of, never used, & still dont understand the magic behind...is it more or less an EQ shape matching effect?).
Here are more tips folks: using vintage style compressors & EQ vsts sonically can help as well, especially if they have saturation emulation in them. You usually want more than just a one & done saturation plugin.
Thats to say, you dang near want to put some saturation on each bus & if youre really clever about it, you can add more contrast & depth depending on how you set it up & what you put on which buses. Def good to do this earlier in the mix though as it can completely change all the balance you previously had & needless to say, you will be gain staging all over again every time you adjust how much saturation you want so keep that in mind.

your recording / mix is very good. this is why it will take more work to make it lofi. make a crappy recording (less mics) and you're 3/4 the way !

I love vintage music, i think my era of music is the 40s, 50s and 60s because it was the start of music being mainstream. Nowadays music is a lot of hit or miss but back then it was only hits, btw I was not alive in the 40s, 50s and 60s just to be clear 😊

Love this! I went to go see all the warped presets you mentioned in space designer, and I only seem to have Drone Tones and Textures. I'm missing all the amp/speakers and vintage effects. Anyone know how I can get those?
