The first thing we turn off is the amazing sound in the car. The test car is equipped with the optional extra audio package. We quickly learn the neat and discreet recessed handles for the car's doors (which do not go out as in the previous Model S version), however, we notice that new fellow passengers have a little difficulty knowing where to press to open the doors the first time. The easiest way is to push once on the far right of the silvery handle and open the regular front door or on the far left to open the back door with the cool wings.
The driving environment in the new Tesla Model X feels familiar from the Model S, however, with a big difference, the very large front window (it feels almost like sitting in a helicopter). We crash the new big windshield and can see the aircraft fly past above us. In order not to obscure the view, Tesla has designed a smaller rear-view mirror with darker glass, as well as two smart sunshades that fold out manually when the sun dazzles the driver or passenger.
We asked some questions to Tesla that we wonder about.
Why does the glass roof turn red when it's wet?
-It may be because the glass adapts to different light intensities.
Is there luggage protection to the luggage when the rear row is folded down?
-We have not received any information about this but probably will come in the near future.

Why do they charge the first half of the battery faster?
- Charging each cell is like filling a glass of water without spilling. When the glass is filled, the flow is gradually reduced to include each drop. For the battery, this means that the current is gradually reduced to balance the cell voltage and finally reduced to a low maintenance charge.

Is the solar film for the rear windows from the factory?
-Yes, for Model X.

When we test the windscreen wipers at higher speeds, it feels a little like a small jet, as they sit on the wiper blade arm itself.
In the early Model S versions, there was no storage in the front seat except the glove compartment. Now the Model S has a center console as standard and the rear seats in the Model S should also be equipped with storage compartments. In Tesla Model X, there is good storage in the front door, but no storage in the back.
We do not have a Model X equipped with Autopilot version 2, which means that the car is equipped with more cameras including. on the sides of the car. We test Autopilot hardware no 1 and it works great. We read on a Tesla forum that it is possible to drive as fast as 150km / h with the Autopilot activated. During our longer drive to Åre, it is fantastic to have the Autopilot activated.
The steering also feels updated in the new Model X compared to the steering in the Model S. It feels lighter and more electronic. We notice after driving the car for a week that it does a lot thanks to the large glass pane that lets so much light into the car.
The navigator is very intelligent and helps us keep track of our journey, how much we need to charge and where. A fully charged Tesla Model X 90D goes about 40 miles in the mode we have chosen to set.
We compare the Tesla Model X key with the Model S key.
