En inglés existen dos tipos de sustantivos: countable (se pueden contar, singular y plural) y uncountable (no tienen plural no se pueden contar, por ejemplo: cheese, water, milk, no puedo decir: two milks.)
Food containers: si bien no puedo contar los líquidos si puedo contarlos en el caso de que esten en botellas, latas, frascos, etc. E.g.: a bottle of water, a cup of coffee, a glass of juice, a jar, etc..
Some y any pueden usarse para countable y uncountable cuando no hablo de una cantidad determinada:
some milk, some apples.
Are there any tomatoes?
We don't need any rice.
(some = + sentences, any = - and ?)
