You don’t understand the US oil industry. There is a reason why they export a lot of oil, and import a lot of oil. Their refineries aren’t setup for their predominantly light crude oil. There is a reason why 60% of their oil imports come from Canada. They can drill as much as they want, stop exports, but they can’t do anything with it.

Not exactly. The tariffs are 10% for Canadian oil (not 25%), and no, the Americans can't just buy it elsewhere. Their refineries are equipped to refine Canadian heavy oil. They buy it very cheap and then transform it for a profit. Hence, only a 10% tariff.
