I’m a 31 year old, townhouse owner. I knew very little 4 years ago when I bought this place. Now… You wouldn’t believe how much I’ve learned and done on my own thanks to this man and his channel! My family is used to hearing Jeff’s voice at this point 😂

When it comes to underlayment, it's also important to check you floor's warranty. I went with Flooret's Modin line (which is amazing btw) and it A) has a 1.5mm underlayment built in, and B) the warranty is voided if you use another underlayment as well. Too much underlayment can be too soft and cause the joints in the flooring to break.

Jeff,
Enjoy all your content. Used to Porter-Cable guy, but have converted to DeWalt. Now have cordless drill, driver, circular saw, oscillating tool, the strongly urged laser level, string trimmer and now 12 brushless chainsaw. Live in Durham, NC and have some DIY projects to get done. New ceilings, new counter tops, new tile backsplash. Your guidance is much appreciated.

Just a video idea would help me so figured it might help others too ! Video going over different door rough opennings and things to consider for each one when framing or remodeling. Interior doors vs exterior doors. pocket door openings, how do you size them, what blocking etc. What about Folding, sliding, barn doors where you need to get your finished dinensions with drywall already leveled. Garage doors, how do you frame them to fit the size of the garage door? Is it final frame dimension with the 2x10 capping to match door size or do you need to give yourself 1/2 inch play like interior doors? Cheers !

My stumper Q would've been how to find my leaky pipe without tearing out floors and ceilings. 12' ceiling that was dropped 2' and sheet rocked, floor above that was installed 2' above and solid wood flooring. How do I find where they put the pipes. Between floor? Or between ceiling?

I would like to know which would be the best wood to buy to build a bedroom wardrobe. I do not want to nail it to the wall. I am planning to build 3 separate pieces. Can you please explain? Love your videos

I have a 100 + year old 2 story house and i am going to remove all the plaster, lath and shiplap in order to insulate. My question is do i need to put plywood or osb back on interior walls to keep rigidity in framing? If i do is there any potential issues of putting vapor barrier over said plywood? Thanks

That was a wild one! Gotta love that rapid-fire Q/A style. I meant what I said: think about a paid Q&A session and I'm sure we'll put money in YOUR bank. Always a blast on these.

Ok I noticed you sand your walls in between painting. Do you wipe the walls down afterwards? I didn’t see you do that step

I've heard conflicting opinions on insulating old houses. We have an 1889 brick house with most of the original lathe and plaster, old wiring, and no insulation. We didn't have too many drafts last winter, but we have debated ripping out the plaster for wiring and insulating anyways. I have heard that because there is no vapor barrier wrap on the house, installing insulation can cause rotting of the interior walls, and also that it is too expensive to do properly to make it worth it. I also really love the original plaster. For a final say in the matter...insulate or no??

Hey Jeff. I recently discovered your channel and let me tell ya I absolutely love it. I wanted to participate yesterday during your live broadcast but it was work time for me unfortunately. So here's my question: My home is under renovation and the entrepreneur made a mistake by installing the shower rod incorrectly. Moving it will leave 1/4 inch holes visible in ceramic tiles of course. What is your best method to fill and hide them? Thanks! 🙂

When installing a bathroom exhaust, would you suggest adding a new exhaust fan to an existing bathroom exhaust with a wye joint?

Hi Jeff, really enjoy your live shows! I wanted to know what's the best way to finish outdoor wood trim around our back door? It gets a lot of exposure from the elements. I tried to paint with exterior latex paint/primer, but should I use an oil based product (and maybe separate primer/paint)? Thanks.

Buffering, don't see that but it does look like there is some frame loss, is the streaming computer maxed out?
