I still remember my first game I came with all the confidence in the world believing I had what it takes I spawned in West Point and as soon as I opened the door 5 zombies rushed me and I locked myself in my spawn house they broke down the windows and I got chased up stairs jumped out the window and ran to the school once I open the door there was a group of zombified survivors who chased me in to the second floor of the school I manged to kill one with a shot gun I tried holding them off with said shot gun but little did I know this just called in the whole town and got eaten after being trapped in a room and having the door broken down

I generally suggest newer players to start at Riverside, low zombie pop, especially during peak, plenty of good loot and base locations.

Westpoint destroyed me early on but now that I'm more experienced it's been one of my favorite locations. And I feel like it'll be a good launch point for me finally going to Louisville for the 1st time soon.

I have never spawned anywhere except for west point. It isn't a terrible location for new people only because of the three rich houses up river by Ben's cabin - When I played the first time, I simply made my way to the river, camped up there till the helicopter event and then walked back down and took residence in a neighborhood by the water which is much safer than the neighborhoods more inland or the downtown

Westpoint was the first place i spawned at when istarted playing, and its pretty much the main place i base at now since its the middle of the map.
For new players this place is a struggle to do things in, but for veterans this place becomes easy as pie.
Also as a extra note, the school isnt the best location for knowledge books in westpoint.
Theres the Enigma Book store in the town + theres a room filled with a crap ton of books a bit to the east in the tool shop.

also to note the north west of west point has 3 mansions one of which is fenced in with tall metal fence. it has almost 0 zombies in it, right next to a river and is just far enough where zombies won't bother you aside from the 1 wandering zombie and close enough where you can still slowly bleed into westpoint and my friends use these mansions like we were born in it!

Westpoint was the first place I selected to start in when I got the game and it is still to this day my starting location mainly because I got to know the area so well that I don't need a map to navigate it anymore so I can't be bother to do the same for the rest.

i LOVE westpoint. The Green's grocery store across from the MegaMart is my FAVORITE base. Its right in the center, you can get rid of the stairs and be mega safe, an office building next door is great for losing zombies, and it has a HUGE rooftop area for hobbies. Being said... I normally play on Winter is Cumming, or x4 zombies and i havent been able to get to Westpoint since I usually start in Muldraugh out of habit. Also LOL didnt know about that heat map! I would always go to the Muldraugh warehouse at the north and go straight down the highway for books. NOW WONDER I ALWAYS STRUGGLE SO HARD cheers for that

Unless playing with sprinters the amount of zombies is rarely the issue rounding them up and moving them/burning them will handle countless zombies with zero skill required until you level enough of a combat skill to actually start fighting hordes. The way I see it always spawn in West Point it's a super easy town to learn it's strategically the closest to Louisville and has plenty of loot until you decide to ultimately move to Louisville where the real fun begins.

best west point strat is to just run to the river and walk to the secluded mansions. from there, do incursions into west point. the far west side of town is relatively quiet

westpoint is my favourite spawn location, usually very easy for me to get supplies and a car so that i can move to my favourite town to base, valley station

I made my safehouse in the storage unit by that huge warehouse. I knocked down 3 walls to turn 3 units into 1 big one and its really cozy.

The last time I played a couple months ago, it was still a viable option to make a molotov in Twiggie's, and burn the side of the gun store. If you played your cards right you got free access to a bunch of guns and ammo on day one. Plus if u picked burglar then you can just sneak your way in there, get a car, and you are set. So yea for me west point has always been the best spawn location, even if it is risky

West point has the best long term safehouse. Just sw of the giga mart above the smaller grocery store. Two apartments, roof top acess for rain barrels and gardens, the office building next door is easy to make a catwalk to for more space (and multiple water coolers)and if you wall off the parking lot it makes a great place to bring back cars to safely work on. Additionally, there are two grocery stores to gather food from and many books in the post office below. Because of all the space it is really good for a group to settle in.

West Point is a challenge for sure. I find my best strat is find the first weapon I see, bumrush to the hardware store for a Crowbar, head to the gunstore next to the bar on the east of West Point and start clearing it out and then set up base in that bar. With loot respawn on in mp, that gun store next to the bar will be the motherlode of infinite guns.

WestPoint is also on the better side for Firearms (Vanilla selection or with Brita's mods) so an Experienced Player can actually try to hurry to the PD with a Long blunt and via Explosive/Vehicle distractions, to then try getting ASAP into armory then leave with at least one Shotty + ammo and a Sidearm with ammo and mags.
Westpoint however is live a LV lite, if you know how and where to make Base and how to Navigate Westpoint even in Extreme Zed count Sandbox runs, you will do well enough in LV

I will select wp sometimes becuz of it's close location to the louisville. When i spawn there, im gonna search for a working car and some food, water and melee weapons so i can easily pass the lv border without hurry. And i will continue my way to american tires shop at southeast lv or pawn shop or mansions; whetever i want. This is a good technique for fast players.
