With cold weather setting in and energy companies at risk, you may have heard a lot of talk about heat pumps.

It’s no secret that heating our homes is contributing to climate change. Domestic energy use accounts for more than 21% of greenhouse gas emissions each year. We need to change the way we heat our homes to protect our planet. At Nesta we’re looking into greener alternatives.

For many UK households, adopting heat pumps will be the answer to low-carbon home heating. The government is aiming for 600,000 heat pump installations per year by 2028. What do you think of heat pumps?
