Seems pretty clear, if you need to routinely use your goto drill for masonary, Metabo. If you find yourself working in tight spots and don't want to get out a right angle drill, Milwaukee. Both are nice but red for me.

I had a Milwaukee hammer drill back in 2016-2017 … I took it in to the Milwaukee service center at least 7 times and they replaced the Chuck each time finally Milwaukee called me and was sending me 2 replacement drills and I sent mine back to them the second drill was a backup drill in case I had more problems I still have the backup drill in the box it came in and I haven’t had another problem with the drill they sent me. …

This thing is legit a beast. I was using it today and nearly snapped my shit up when it spun out of my control. Way more power than the drills I use to use as a young construction worker a decade ago.

Me, i use my drill about 10 times a year, also me I must have this to complete my Milwaukee collection, and finally get rid of my bosch 18v drill so I can get rid of another charger on my shelf. This will give my shelf room for ryobi, since milwaukee doesn't make a cordless leaf vac.

My gen three trigger also acts funny from time to time

I've had my gen 3 since they came out never had an issue with them dropped them off a scissor lift and they still work. I use them for everything from mixing concrete to drilling pre-holes for tapcons. If your matching 18v line ups milwaukee has more torque and metabo has more bpm hench the difference in concrete/wood drill speed. Honestly don't see the 18v metabo being a competitor but the 36v is a beast. Still wouldn't trade my Milwaukee for the 36v Metabo but I wouldn't mind taking it for a test drive so to speak.

Well I must admit Metabo is doing ok. I have a Metabo set but it's a little older. It's slower than most brands but it has done me proud . Many years I have thrashed that drill to get most of my jobs done and it did not fail me . They are very reliable 😁 but I like Milwaukee and DeWalt drills

Even if Metabo didn't win it's still a beast and a tool any man could be proud to have a know he can get the job done.

But in all fairness Brian has a height and weight advantage. Brian seems like a pretty chill dude. Go Blackhawks though 😎👍

Apologies about my rant last night! But I am fed up with picking up my Milwaukee M18 tools to find the triggers not working and finding the torque claims by Milwaukee very exaggerated. I bought the M18 fuel combi because of the 135Nm of torque. I thought it would be great to have that extra torque for driving in fixings. My Hilti SF6H A22 only has 80Nm of torque but seems to drive fixings really well. So yesterday in work I put them head to head driving in 3" 8mm shanked hex headed screws into 3x3" CLS. I put the Milwaukee on its highest torque setting of 13 and my Hilti on 13 (Hilti has 15 settings). The Milwaukee sank them an 1/8" short of right in and would go no further it just ratcheted. The Hilti drove it in slightly less initially but on releasing the trigger and going again it sank it in deep....same setting of 13. I still had two more torque settings left to go on the Hilti as well. And that is only 80Nm of torque. Maybe Milwaukee measures the torque differently, but every time the Hilti did better. Also the new brushless SF6H with a 2, 000rpm top speed is a lot faster drilling 6mm holes in brick than the Milwaukee. The Hilti build quality is also much better.

Metabo HPT (Hitachi power tools) is Hitachi, now being sold as Hikoki in Europe.

Would it be fair to say that the temperature readings for the milwaukee would have been different had the person used it with the handle fitted so as not to cover the ventilation area at the back of the machine. I have had enough of my Bosch cordless tools under performing (apart from the cordless circular saw). Was thinking of changing to milwaukee so quite interested in the tests you carry out. Thank you very much.

That Far Fig Newton or Farfegnugen on the Metabo is set a little too sensitive I think

What screw driver bit set do you recomend for my gen 3 hammer drill milwaukee

when they took a temperature reading on the drills i can't help but if the Milwaukee is running higher it's because the guy is holding his hand over the vent holes
