Holding down the sticks and turning them do not "recalibrate" it is just another way to remove dirt from the potentiometer.
None of these tips fix anything, they just temporarily help, sometimes.

If you still have the drift try this too
Bring a toothpick, pull the stick up and lean it to every angle and then try to pick stuck stuff from the space behind the gear, try this on every angle and then if your gear is stick to lean toward one direction try to pull it out a little bit and blow here
It worked for me so you should try this too

Have tried all the stupid "100% fix stick shift" video methods none worked, 1 good clean with a wet wipe, immediately fixed the issue, thank you Sir, you saved me buying a new controller

My controller was off and I moved the analog sticks clockwise and counter clockwise and it immediately went back to not working right

Can definitely happen on new ones lol, I just opened mine and it has drift

no way, i wasn’t bother to follow the steps of this video because i doubted it.. AFTER YEARS OF HAVING A DUMB STICK DRIFT I JUST THOUGHT OF BLOWING ONTO THE JOYSTICK ONCE ON BOTH SIDES, and boom it works.. it was that simple!?

Anytime I press R2 or L2 my left stick starts to drift down and my X button doesn’t work most of the time( I bought this controller less then a month ago)

not sure if it’s permanent but for right now it helped i will comeback to let yall know (im doing so because like myself i check comments for updates to see if its a proper fix)

edit:for the most part it works my controller got better over the last three days the trick i used was hold both sticks down and i also blew out dust from the analog sticks

I bought a new controller then 3 month later I have drift in my left stick, like bruh I didn't even drop it or bang it against anything then today I'm playing farcry 6 then I noticed how my controller started moving forwards by itself
