This Is Basically Inside Out 3...

It's another Pixar Spin-Off TV Series for Disney Plus. But it has FAR exceeded all of my expectations. From what I expected to be a mid expansion of the world of Riley's brain, some content in the form of a inbetween quel, a pre-sequel, turned out to be a brilliantly executed little side story from the genius writers at Pixar flexing on us once again with heart, emotion, crazy concept work, and so many easter eggs, puns and references hidden in there. it may be commentary on Hollywood Studios, it may focus entirely on sleep. and it may only be 4 episodes long. But this is a masterpiece. This is Pixar's Dream Productions. But let's be real. This Is Basically Inside Out 3...

Dream Productions exceeded all expectations. I couldn't NOT cover it!

The concept of Riley having a lucid dream and ACTUALLY interacting with the people inside her mind is so cool, its enough to make me actually want to go and watch this right now.

For some reason its giving me Bowser's Inside Story vibes, when Bowser talks to "Chippy" not realizing its actually Starlow. XD

i love teen rileys design. the fact shes just a big paper with a drawing of riley as a teenager is so awesome to me, and the emotions put into it is really cool too!

I can’t believe they gave character development to the boyfriend thing from the end of inside out 1 where she builds the tower of boyfriends

The reality filter concept was actually seen in the first Inside Out movie as well. In fact, a lot of aspects about dream productions like the sleep meter and the camera and the way dreams aren't supposed to wake Riley up was all taken from the first movie and expanded upon in really cool ways. Very nice sense of continuity

The lucid dream part was awesome. It also plays into the idea that anyone you talk to inside of a lucid dream is actually your subconscious and whatnot, they portrayed the entire scene perfectly imo

I love that the show basically confirmed that Turning Red takes place in the same universe.

The inside out writers are so amazing at their job. I hope they don’t ruin that

In regards to how the parents dream departments are upset with them, I feel like it was just something the parents said off screen like dad waking up like "*yawn* What's going on? I was just flying through the air like a superhero. Why's Riley up?" kind of thing where they just said something and the emotions in Rileys headquarters just knows "oh that is expensive, their dream productions are not going to be happy." that is my guess at least

17:39 I love this as it tells women/humans in general that if you feel uncomfortable with any one forcing you to do anything then you don’t have to do it. If you don’t want a relationship then that’s good and also Riley realising the men are way too clingy is also a great idea to implement into the show. It’s a great scene full of great messages

18:30 I assumed they just think the other dream studios are mad at them because Riley woke her parents up, and maybe dad told Riley about his flying dream

Honestly, it was funny that, in the end, the main villain is an executive trying to control the creatives even when they all disagree. I think some Pixard employees must have related to the show. lol.

0:43 that explains why there’s no Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment in sight in the show

You said that Paula got a new office, but her office was actually the CEO's office, heavily implying that she got the CEO's job.
Another thing is that, Paula was completely right in the end! When Riley chose her own dream, she chose Glitter, Balloons, and Rainbow Unicorn!
I also think that it's important to note that the reason Janelle was probably inclined to believe Paula was when she heard she quit, Janelle had worked with Paula for they say multiple times, 10 years, so she probably knows how much her job means to her, along with her quick reading of the script.

It’s nice that it’s original instead of doing “a day in the life of fear”
Or something like that

I enjoyed this commentary, but I have one note. I actually really liked that Xeni pointed the reality distortion filter earlier and then Paula ends up using that idea. Sure it could have been more impactful if she came up with it on her own, but her using Xeni's idea shows character growth and how she is finally accepting him as a real director annd someone who's ideas are worth exploring. I feel if that detail wasn't shown, the turnaround for her promoting Xeni to director would feel very sudden, like she completely changed who she was because of basically nnothinng. Instead, it was Xeni's idea that actually saved Riley's dream, not Paula's.
Sorry about how long this is, I really loved this detail

I think the quality was incredible! The little bean people looked so real, and the camera zooming in and out looked so realistic!

If they did make a second part set after the second movie, it would be cool to do a sleep paralysis episode!

I love that it mostly feels like its own thing.
