"just because there's no electricity doesn't mean it's medieval" is a point i had to make in so many papers about game of thrones in my SFF class last year! my solid plans for august are reading book 2 and 3 in the there will come a darkness trilogy. i read book 1 this month and i fell in love

I’m also planning on reading Oathbringer in August and can’t wait!! Some other books on my August radar include Parable of the Talents, Pachinko, Stone Blind, and Remarkably Bright Creatures (re-read for a book club) 😊

I love the purple light ❤. The Strand Magazine just released their best mystery book Critics Award nominees - I wonder if that might help you find new mysteries to enjoy? (Also the Ursula K. le Guin award released their shortlist if you want to grow your imaginative fiction TBR!)

Oh I'm so excited to hear what you think about Ferrante's The Days of Abandonment, as I'm curious to maybe read it myself too. I also adore the Neapolitan novels, there's just something magical in Ferrante's writing - how is she able to tell the stories like everything is so so real, like we're actually experiencing it instead of reading about it? I can't believe it's fiction!

I'm sure you're gonna love the "Starter villain" book!!! (I say as I haven't read it but that cover!!! 😱 Who wouldn't?!) Hope you have a good reading month as I haven't felt like reading for over a month now... 🤔 So living vicariously! 😊
