I remember when this happened. I was only 22 yo and a student at U of M in Michigan. I remember this storm produced a lot of wind and rain for the region. It definitely looked like a mini hurricane on radar. So interesting that Heather covered this event. Great job!

Not only was I alive for this, I was old enough to remember it, as I was 13 at the time.

Yes, this really happened. Yes, we consider it a hurricane up here in Michigan.

It's about time other areas started acknowledging this really happened.

Suggest you look at the "White Hurricane" of November 8-10, 1913. Winds were of hurricane force (almost category 2) with waves as high as 35 feet on both Huron and Michigan.

More evidence that the Great Lakes should be considered as a different category altogether, and perhaps called something more appropriate like “freshwater seas” and not “lakes”

Comme Lake Ontario give me one of those

Uh, the 1913 storm had winds over 75 m.p.h.

I was actually alive when this happened. Of course, I would have been way way too little to remember. Plus, not living in the upper midwest or northeast US is another reason.

Well This is Rare Actually This Was Not a Tropical Storm Because It Was Not In The Tropics It Was in The Lakes So Let’s Call if a Lake Storm If It Got to Hurricane It Would Be a Lakecane
