Behind the Business: Shaping Careers at Milestone C

As a student at the University of Connecticut pursuing a master’s degree, Rachel Vincent thought she would graduate and become a science teacher.

That changed the summer before completing her degree when she landed an internship at Milestone C in Shelton.

Their tag line? Shaping future STEM leaders.

It aligned well with her interests and was conveniently located near her Connecticut childhood home.

“I just fell in love with what we do here. It was so different from anything I experienced working in classrooms and in schools,” said Vincent.

Now she’s working full time for the company as a STEM educator, writing curriculum and teaching teachers about how to plan lessons with new technology.

“My favorite part of my job is that I wear so many different hats.”
