Its absolutely criminal that branthwaite hasn't been selected he's definitely England's second best centre half after stones

calling england the tournament favourites is crazy when france and portugal are literally right there

England gets a lot of media attention every time they enter a tournament, I believe that motivates opposition teams even more to beat them.

Supporting England from Georgia since Euro 96. Finally I can support Georgia itself on the tournament but still strongly support England as well. This time I'm sure Gareth gets the job done

I’m convinced the bookies put us as favourites to suck out as much cash as possible from us…

France or the reigning champions should technically be favourites

Everybody missing harry maguire now he’s gone, same people that said he wasn’t good enough for the championship

It all comes down to whether Southgate can create and implement a system that works.

I really think not taking a fit LB is a massive massive problem. I don’t think any other top team plays a right footer at LB anymore, it just doesn’t work that well in todays current game. Branthwaite would have helped mitigate to some extent and with his experience of playing weekly with Pickford not taking him could be a costly mistake.
I’d also have taken one of Grealish or Rashford instead of Toney. Not convinced by Toney at this level and yes he’s good at pens but Rashford and Grealish can offer more off the bench & have generally played well for England at tournaments before. The idea of taking someone just for penalties isn’t a good attitude imo - almost saying that you aren’t capable of winning every game in normal time.

i watched or read many predictions for the Euros in the last 2 weeks. Quite rightly the majority of respected experts make France clear favourites. Their squad is clearly better than everyone elses plus they have the expereince of winning tournaments. Then come Germany the hosts, Portugal and England all with a chance of success. on the evidence so far, Spain and Italy should be in that group.

It's easily good enough as much as all the foreign fans will cry about how "overrated" we are. Problem is our manager is Sunday league level.

Not taking any left footed defenders except an injured Luke shaw just shows how tactically inept Southgate is! Hope everyone is ready to see 5 at the back with 2 holding midfielders!!! We won’t even win our group!

I would have personally dropped Toney for Grealish, and dropped Dunk for Branthwaite.

The whole nation must put strong faith in the likes of Palmer, Gordon, Eze, Bowen, Wharton. They will be lethal weapons in Gareth's arm, helping us to first-ever trophy since 1966, trust the boys!

No, a good squad held back by a poor manager.

This is something that annoys me about media.

There is a huge difference between saying ‘England are the favourites’ and ‘England are ONE of the favourites’. It’s not the same thing.

It’s foolish to dismiss France, Germany or Portugal
