I can't believe I spent $1.25 on this… ☠️ This dollar tree Halloween craft turned out so good!

This dollar store halloween craft is SO GOOD y’all!

I have made about 10 of these now -- it might be my favorite Halloween DIY of all time!

Here’s what you need:

- Skeleton cups
- Wooden plaque
- Ivory chalk paint
- Black craft paint
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Lantern
- Foam brushes

Directions:

1. Separate cup from hand using a craft spatula.
2. Paint the wrist and hand with several layers of chalk paint. Then paint the base of the cup black.
3. Paint the wooden plaques the same shade of black. Hot glue the cup to the plaque.
4. Remove the battery component from the lantern, add the tea light. Hot glue the lid shut if necessary.
5. Hang the plaque on the wall with command strips, add the lantern and some optional cobwebs. Enjoy!

You could also put the tea light directly on the hand, Hand of Glory style. (I know how that sounds but I promise it's not a sex thing!) A Hand of Glory was a candleholder which English folklore states was made from the severed hand of a freshly-hanged criminal. A thief seeking success in their misdeeds would cut off the hand, collect some of the criminal's own fat and make it into candles, then place the candles in the palm of the hand (or attach them to the fingers, according to some variants) and use the whole thing for a torch. Before entering the house they'd light the candles and say 'let whomever is asleep be asleep, and let whomever is awake be awake', before breaking in. This was supposed to make it so that the residents of the house wouldn't wake up while the thief was doing his illegal work. Supposedly the only way to reverse the spell was by dunking the Hand in milk to put the candles out.

Another option is to leave the cup in and fill with spray painted (or glitter dipped) gold, silver, or bronze tiny foam pumpkins. I used them as trophies for a pumpkin carving contest.

Umm, if you were going to only spend money at dollar tree, you'd have spent $1.25 each for a lantern, spider webbing, the hand, the board, off white paint, black paint and glue, so $8.75 plus tax, be honest, don't lie about what it would cost to make
