📝 Hypovolemic Shock:

🔍 Definition: Hypovolemic shock is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body loses more than 20% (about one-fifth) of its blood or fluid supply. This severe loss leads to inadequate tissue perfusion, depriving organs of oxygen and nutrients, and can result in organ failure.
📋 Causes: Common causes include severe bleeding (from trauma, surgery, or gastrointestinal hemorrhage), dehydration (due to vomiting, diarrhea, or excessive sweating), and burns.
🩺 Symptoms: Signs include rapid, weak pulse, low blood pressure, rapid breathing, cold and clammy skin, confusion or loss of consciousness, and decreased urine output.
💊 Treatment: Immediate treatment involves rapid fluid resuscitation with IV fluids or blood products to restore blood volume. Identifying and stopping the source of fluid loss is crucial. Medications like vasopressors may be used to support blood pressure if fluids alone are insufficient.
