But wait, why do I also feel like this isn't novel? Like I also have a memory of a memory of it

There's been atleast 3 King Cuda drag cars along with Hot Wheels King Cuda. I've never seen this specific one before but I'm guessing this either belonged to the guy who built King Cuda 1 & 2 or this is what he based his on. There are probably photos in some old mags somewhere out there

If you pay attention to the background, seems like poor Mopars come here to die... 😮

Hot wheels....yes.... But more importantly that car was pictured many times in a few old rod magazines... I remember seeing it many times. I'm almost positive it was pictured for a place called rod shop cuda. Still currently uses a picture of another car but if you search that picture was used in the early eighties to represent their rod shop

My father used to work for Allen Green Chevrolet in Burien Washington. it's now Glenn Grant Chevrolet. when he worked there they had a 1969 Camaro drag car, and it was called the King Camaro. I guess it was pretty fast, but I it had this issue where it would leave the ground and fly. once in a while when making passes down the quarter mile.

The name King Cuda is used by Hot Wheels. It's a 69 plymouth barracuda missing a hood with a supercharged engine popping out. It's a really old mold, so this car might be the basis in which it was made (the original Hot Wheels were mostly preexisting cars that were more heavily stylized compared to IRL counterparts) Though Hot Wheels has it named with a K (King Kuda) instead of a C (King Cuda).

My grandpa had 2 cudas back in the day. One i believe was a 70 his brother wrapped around a walnut tree and the other was a 71 i think with the slotted grill and “shaker” hood. Ended up trading it i believe. The one car i wish was still around from my family history
