He didn't say that Shang Tsung knows about the past time lines. He just said that even in this new time line that Tsung is still going down the path of evil and Kang knows it.

On one hand I like that Netherrealm hasn't forgotten past fighters. Though on the other it is kinda heartbreaking seeing some not being playable at all. Fighting against them but not playing them feels like the tip of your finger can touch them but you can't grasp them.

My first thought was the deadly alliance. However, I think Boon is talking about Shang teaming up with GORO having him kill the great king Lao to go on to win 9 of the 10 MK tournaments in the previous timelines. (Damage they have done together)

I swear to god! Am I literally the only person who cares about stage fatalities in MK games anymore? They were extremely important to stage design and the high steaks of a fight lore-wise and added to much fascination to the game for me. Why do MK games not have stage fatalities anymore

Mentioned this in your last video. My theory is that some main roster characters that aren't on the Kameo roster will be featured as kameos during the story. So maybe Liu Kang isn't on the Kameo roster, but he's used as a Kameo during one of the chapters in the story to assist someone else during a fight, etc.

What if the kameo characters are simply characters in the story that support whoever you play in that specific chapter of the story mode? Like Fire God Liu Kang assisting Kung Lao in an otherwise unfair situation. If you see it like that, there might just be a character with the new design helping in the story mode as a kameo character, because that character is actually in the story mode, it would make sense story wise AND wouldn't feel as jarring considering the character that is assisting you was right beside you when the Fight started, it just would make the most sense.
So thats my theory, kameo Characters in story mode are only going to be the characters that you see in story mode and that's why some or a lot of them aren't on the kameo roster.
