I’ve listened to this album and ran through it 500 times no joke, stfu ur capping, Mortal man is literally one of Kendrick’s deepest writing like the third verse, interview with PAC is so interesting and meaningful and explains the album, truly at the end. Mortal man is the top 5 most emotional Kendrick songs ever.I truly question anyone that doesn’t like this song because Kendricks poetry is so good on it mixed in with that beautiful instrumental and strings and how his flow builds up. “You wanna be remembered that delivered the message that considered, the blessing for everyone, this your lesson for everyone” Mortal Man is god tier BECAUSE you don’t want to listen to it everyday. That’s the type of song that truly has timelessness and you can say that about many of the songs on the album, but mortal man wasn’t made for you to listen everyday. It’s a mission statement. Just like mother i sober, I don’t listen to that song everyday, but it’s easily the most moving song on MMBS and also top 5 emotional Kendrick songs.

My favorite song is the blacker the berry. Instead of being subtle and calm like he was throughout the album, he releases his frustrations into a straightforward banger rap song, addressing every single stereotype at the end of the song, before it ends with just a calm instrumental.

im from South Africa, juss so you know kendrick captured the story of long walk to freedom in a perspective that no historian has, its the best song and it might be coz i connect with it since it hit home.
