I still can't get over the fact that the fucking geek left her his business card instead of returning her advances.

I mean, no wonder Lucy fell for him. He's probably the only man she's ever met who flat out told her that she was a better and more interesting person than she gave herself credit for. Who saw that there was more to her than just her sex appeal, and who actually meant the phrase "If anytime you need a friend, just come over and we'll have a chat" LITERALLY. She was so used to being treated like an object of desire by everyone that this completely threw her off.

As we find out later, though she struggles to admit it and confuses that feeling for love, all she ever really wanted in life was for someone to see her for who she really was, someone who could give her that physical and emotional security that she so desperately craved. Someone who could help her spread her wings in a way she couldn't on her own.

Yes, there was physical attraction involved on both their ends, and that attraction only grew with time. But as someone who takes his status and outward appearance very seriously, Henry certainly wouldn't make it easier for himself to be unfaithful to Lisa by encouraging Lucy to come see him. And if he really wanted to cheat, he could have done so without inviting Lucy to come over to his house WHENEVER SHE FELT LIKE IT. He could have just walked away that would have been that.
But he didn't.
Because he, in some way or another, saw her pain. He saw that in a way, they were similar, both trying to keep up appearances and playing their role in society, keeping their true selves safely locked away so as to not crack under the pressure.

And to me, that just makes it so much more tragic to see what happens later. Hyde was the product of all that pent up frustration, pain and anger, all those habitually repressed urges that are natural to every one of us, but couldn't be let out because of societal constraints and inhibitions. And those were of course infinitely more restrictive in the victorian era. Being faced with the sudden, unfamiliar freedom to do whatever the hell he wanted and the inability to feel shame or responsibility was utterly overwhelming and confusing, and so he snapped. If Henry hadn't taken the potion, they could have leaned to be there for eachother in a healthy way, as friends, taking baby steps towards a happier and more fulfilled life. But of course, we can't have nice things, and that sadly isn't how the story goes, no matter how much we'd like it to.

She is one hell of a seller...Kinda like how when she meet Jekyll you can totally hear in her voice she *love* to be the "expert"/dominant one in the conversation and would really like to lure shy boy in for a little bit of fun.
While when she meet Hyde she is professional but on purpose keep her distance and under the facade of unfazed street girl in seeing his obvious madness she is scared as hell of allowing him to touch her.

My vocal coach said I had an identical voice to this character. I played it and my husband did a double take cause he thought I was singing. I guess I must have a close enough voice lol. I started singing same time to see if the match it was oddly close! Eerily close.
