How To Make A Rainbow Swiss Roll (ASMR Version)
This Swiss Roll Cake also known as a Roulade Cake is a real showstopper and is perfect for special occasions. If you're looking for a cake that's worthy of any party, give this a try!
You can use any colours you like to make it your own. It's so easy to make and tastes delicious!

All you need is:
For the Cake:
225g margarine or salted butter, softened (1 cup)
225g caster sugar (1 cup superfine sugar)
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
225g self-raising flour (1 ¾ cups self-rising flour)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp milk (any type)
Food colouring of choice (optional)
For the Icing:
150g unsalted or salted butter, softened (⅔ cup)
220g icing sugar (1 ¾ cups powdered sugar/confectioners’ sugar)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp milk (1 tbsp milk)
Baking Instructions:
Preheat oven to 170°C (150°C fan)/325°F.
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs or the cake springs back when lightly pressed.
Avoid overbaking to prevent cracking.
🌟 I flipped my cake over twice (once out of the tin, then again so the bright colours were on the outside)
🌟 Try to use high quality food colouring such as Wilton or Sugarflair to get bright bold colours without changing the flavour or texture of the cake.

BIG TIP - Grams are much more accurate than cups, if you like to bake, a simple weighing scale is such a big help and very useful to have in the kitchen.
