Hey hey! As voted last month here's Steve Khan's rendition of 'You Stepped Out of a Dream'. I love this tune, the Cmaj7 & Dbmaj7 side by side is such a cool opening. I think it's the 1st transcription I make from this tune but I'll look if I can find another one shortly.

If I may add a quick note on the performance. Pay attention to the 'quarter note' syncopation at every chord change in the accompaniment. I'm not sure where this come from, but It create a nice constant forward motion. Paired with the rhythmic of the guitar solo, it's makes some solid interplay between him and the rhythm section. It's pretty tough to solo over it thou, I get lost after a few bars... lol, I will need to practice that. I'll post the backing track shortly.

Also, If you like Steve Khan's style. He made two books, one on soloing and on on comping. He covers how he's using pentatonic to create the quartal color. It's pretty well done and it covers exactly what he's doing here. Have fun!

Can’t even hear the actual melody. This is second rate guitar jazz. Terrible example for people to learn.
