It's always this problem when you replace an essential member. Fabienne isn't Anna, but she is getting much more shit than she deserves, I really think she managed the song very well. Also if you liked Eluveitie only with Anna, I don't really think you are fans of the group

I don't get why people are so hating towards the vocals of this song. Sure, it's not Anna, and it never will be, but she's trying her hardest and is certainly doing better than a lot of other bands. So good on her!

I'm open to changes. I enjoy in Fabienne's voice. It's good, the range is somewhat decent, with proper tonalities. Especially in folk-ish songs, it really fits in, as do her movements. Problem with this particular song, is that they choose to perform a Rose for Epona with her, even though it is widely loved and accepted song, it is a song that has established voice and big, big audience, and this is internet - and as we all know, internet does not take change very well. I personally give her credit and I think she has a good voice.
I also think the main problem lies in performing the established song, because people are used it having a certain sound, and they WILL have that as the first impression, even if that is not too smart. Thus people end up hating on it, hating on her, hating on the change.

The same happens all the time, and while we're at that, the same way we might as well argue that Arch Enemy is nothing without Angela, that Nightwish is nothing without Tarja, Kamelot nothing without Roy, Iced Earth nothing without Barlow, etc etc. Most of times, people are just, "stuck in the past", per say, and they are not open to change, because they are just too used to something and they will just judge about every single change.

I'm guessing this is the performance that fueled the hate train towards Fabienne? Seems to me that people are over reacting to the lineup change and just want to unfairly compare a crappy cellphone recording of a live performance to a professionally done studio recording. Eluveitie is in good place right now, even without Anna. Evocation II is evidence of that.
