Sloane complained that Pavlyuchenkova called out for her fysio and coach, both at times on her game of serve. I mean Pavlyuchenkova did nothing wrong, maybe her intention was stalling the game, but either way according to the rules she has legitimate right to call out for her fysio and coach during any time of the match, even in basketball matches you call for a time out to disrupt the rhythm and momentum of your opponents, its a strategical tactic, nothing wrong with that, especially in tennis its a game of momentum and if you can steer and change the momentum of your opponent within the rules of the game, then why not?

Somebody educate me, just a casual tennis fan. But what's the difference between making a shot to the body and deliberately trying to hit the opponent with a ball? Is it actually against the rules to strike the ball toward your opponent's body?

First of all, players are instructed to go directly at the body, when at the net, volleying the ball. I can name hundreds of times this has happened. Nadal vs Djokovic, Nadal vs Federer, Djokovic vs Federer, Halap vs Kerber and the lists goes on and on. Second, Children play tennis and it isn’t right for anyone to swear on the court when children watch these tennis matches. Third, you should have the dignity to recognize the fact, that you are a top earner in sports and show the utmost respect for not only your opponent, but also the fans, who pay to watch you.

I see nothing wrong here! Stephens shouldn't have said anything to Pavlychenkova to being with. Also, it's completely legal for Pavlychenkova to hit the ball at Stephens... she aimed the ball at her feet not her body so not a big deal. Serena Williams used to hit players ALL THE TIME and she done it intentionally. It's just tennis, nothing personal and nothing racist here.

I love this so much. Sloane is a gift that keeps on giving. Theres more to this story, you have to watch all of the match to understand why she said that. Pavs could have gone anywhere on the court, Sloane was right to be pissed.

Same thing happen to Serena & Sharapova on AO open she almost hit Serena on her body that’s why Sharapova will never ever win against Serena! She could easily win & mad & motivated for reminding her self the person like to hit her on her body and since then Sharapova H2H came worst 19-2 😊 and they called it rivalry 🤦‍♂️

TL:DW Sloane called out Pavlyuchenkova for gamesmanship. An argument started and Pavlyuchenkova got in Sloane's face. The resentment carried on throughout the rest of this set.

She wasn't trying to hit her she was hitting a moderately difficult overhead from the service line and she all at her feet. If she really wanted to hit her she would have aimed for the head or chest. Stephens is overreacting and she won the point to boot.

sloane stephens is one of the most physically gifted players on the WTA. Unfortunately for her, she just doesn't seem very interested in playing most of her matches. I don't think I've ever seen her sweat and that's a bad thing for any athlete. Just seems lazy and distracted.
