Jason Taylor: 'In 20 years I traveled 20 miles'

Jason Taylor played his college football right up the road from Canton, Ohio.

The former Dolphins defensive end was a third-round pick from Akron in the 1997 NFL Draft and went on to become one of the best pass rushers the NFL has ever seen.

He said playing in Akron just 20 miles north of Canton "could have been a million" miles from the Hall of Fame.

"Back then I couldn't fathom that over the course of the next two decades, step by step I traveled those 20 miles to be on this stage," the Pittsburgh native said Saturday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium during his speech as he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. "In 20 years I traveled 20 miles, but it was worth every bit of it."
