Bella embodies everything about Ellie, the fact that people are so obsessed with how she does not physically look the same as a composite of Ashley Johnson’s face and CGI is ridiculous to me. Has nobody stopped to consider that Ashley Johnson herself approved Bella's casting when she saw her audition. It just goes to show that a lot of fans are to hung up on her voice to be objective and treat Ellie like her own person. By that I mean people don't see Ellie as Ellie, they see her as Ashley Johnson and cannot separate the two.

I love Ashley Johnson and her performance is fantastic but not once did I ever believe that she sounded like a teenager and nor did she look like one.

The fact that they found Bella who can capture Ellies personality AND look and sound 14 is fantastic, it proves that on screen acting is different from motion capture and voice actimg.

It’s not crying, why can’t people except the fact the we don’t HAVE to like her casting. I wasn’t bothered by it until I saw the first 2 episodes and saw that she doesn’t really feel like Ellie to me. I’ll continue watching and giving her the benefit of the doubt hoping she gets better but no one HAS to like he casting choice as Ellie.

I swear if she ever commits suicide one day, people will suddenly have a change of heart and say they liked her and wished her back.

Then they'll learn nothing and the same thing will happen again with the next "bad casting." 😒
