Americans (and maybe the British too...?) use R.S.V.P. all the time... but 99.9% wouldn’t be able to tell you what it means

:) Thanks for this! I'm learning french in preparation for a study abroad trip coming up, and I'm finding your videos very helpful.

Some commonly used french words in the U.S. are: voila, deja vu, rendezvous, faux pas, cuisine...

A car park? Is that what they say in England? The actual place where we park is called a parking lot if it is flat land. If it is in a building, it is called a parking structure. The word "parking" itself does not mean the physical place where we park, it is just in general where we park our cars. Like, "Excuse me, do you know where there is parking? Yes, there is street parking a little further down and there is a parking structure on Santa Monica".

If you are good in English vocabulary, that's to say, you have well command over the synonyms then you will know that most of the words of french are taken from English....for example:
Love/ adore- adorer, improve/ameliorate- améliorer, give up/ abandon - abandonner.

What does the tuning mean? There is no such word in English as "tuning". We have words like "tuning in", "tuning out", "tuned in", "tuned out"... but "the tuning", that is not a word.

For « challenge », I think that more French pronounce it like in English than how you pronounced it.
Again, I never heard anyone say « talkie-walkie » like how you pronounced it. Usually, French people pronounce it « tolki wolki ».

Hello Alexa
I want to tell you how much I love your channel and how you teach I always feel so much connected to you while I'm learning from you, sometimes I just wish to keep all the video lessons that you have made uptill now after all they are all so
But one thing when we come across a French text our mind starts translating things, do you think it's right, if not what should I do????
Tonnes of love and hugs to y

Are those official, standard words? Spanish borrows some words from English, but some of those are viewed as "bad" Spanish, like lonche. Some don't seem to carry a stigma, like sandwis.
