This might be the reason i quit the game early. I cant make sense of the timing for this move, if i get it the cpu will super counter MY super counter and im conviced people online just spam it repeatedly and get lucky. It seriously has me questioning whether my controller is busted or if theres input lag. its SO inconsistent and ive sat and practiced it over and over to the point where I dont want to bother anymore. I get maybe 5 or 6 hours a week to play and I dont want to spend it in training getting nowhere with this move..its a shame i think the game would be more fun without it.

I think I figured it out! I think this will both stop the spamming and help with the timing a bit. I'm using training with piccolo while doing this. While I still have problems, what helps me is paying attention to the hit counter in the left corner of the screen. after the hit number pops up, pressing up + square in that moment, it can help with getting the timing almost right enough to counter the following hit! And another thing is waiting until after the fifth hit of the rush combo, wait until the 5 and number 2851 damage to appear, then hit the buttons again to use it too. It's still hard to pull off, but it can help a lot to use the damage numbers as an indicator for using the technique in time. It's also helped me stopped spamming since I'm paying more attention to the numbers versus destroying my thumbstick and square button. I just wanted to leave this here for others since it might help a little.
Another amazing tip: If you press guard and hold the thumsbstick down, it makes guard vanishing from follow-ups alot easier. I'm hitting those 10/10 more effectively now. And if you succeed, hold guard and press perception for sway movement to lower their ki if they are on the attack. I actually beat my friends using this method a lot.

I didn't even know you can do this but I was consistently winning online. I guess button mashing is pretty helpful in this game.

It is more about getting a feel for the combos than just reflexes. Best way to learn is to get beat up a lot.

I do kinda wish it had a small cost so that way maybe you won't get the big combo 80% of the time but every now and then you get a chance to pull out the big combo
