I don’t know why, the first time I listened to it, I found the chorus so emotional. Hearing Chester singing this « meaningless » words got me…but why?

Remember Mike saying in a behind the scenes that the band teased him when did gibberish scat-type lyrics.
And I think it was especially present in Minutes To Midnight, this song and the Leave Out All The Rest demo are great examples.
